First off, watch my gorram play.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
When do you stop wondering what you want to be when you grow up?

Dan Gibbins, award-winning Calgary playwright and author of Calgary
Fringe hits "Knoll," and The Very Long Night of Tyler and Selena," and
Scorpio Theatre present "Quarter Century," a play about the fine line
between youth and grown-ups and how easy it is to trip over.

Six friends in their mid-twenties are trying to figure out how
adulthood works. Xavier's not sure he can be a typical grown-up,
while his attorney wife Miranda wishes he'd start trying. Riley's
looking for direction in his life, while Angela fights to avoid the
direction everyone thinks she should head in. Theresa's tired of
solving everyone's problems while her own go unnoticed, and Bobby's
too busy experimenting to figure out what he wants. (Warnings:
language and adult content.)

Starring Aaron Conrad, Jody Tchir, Dan Gibbins, Marissa Chastain, Sean
Broadhurst, and Gina Damberger, the 90-minute (plus 15 minute
intermission) "Quarter Century" will be performed at Dancers' Studio
West, 2007 10th Avenue South West, Wednesday through Saturday nights,
October 18th - 28th, 2006 at 8:00 pm.

Tickets are available at the door, or you may reserve your tickets by
calling (403)-999-2024 or e-mailing <scorpio.info@shaw.ca>.

Spent the weekend doing scuba classes. Mild fun, but at points tiresome. Mostly in the classwork stages. To plan dive times and depths, you use a chart. Well, three charts. I didn't find them complicated at all, but apparantly that was just me. Last class went nearly an hour late so that the instructor could keep explaining sample problems that took me 30 seconds to do. Tiresome.

Also saw Cirque de Soleil's Delirium. It was neat, but I wasn't feeling the concert-style approach. Too much dance show, not enough freaky circus of stellar acrobatics.

It seems like other things should have happened to me recently. But nothing comes to mind. Although I have become obsessed with Sluggy Freelance. The artist is a hell of a storyteller, and manages to combine slapstick humour, poignancy, and heart-rending tragedy into the most unlikely storylines. Storylines which take his core characters into any genre you care to mention. Not every storyline scores full marks, but it's still well worth reading.

The big upside to life right now is that my new life is working out well--specifically, I am earning money faster than I can spend it. After years of "one DVD box set every other month or so," the ability to buy what I choose pretty much at will feels good. I'm not going nuts or anything, but when the new Nintendo hits stores I can grab one without spending the next year paying off the charge to my credit card.

Out of things to say. Best be off.

"Okay. In my defense, that was physically impossible."

You said the thing about requesting a dance very early on. Before we had even started drinking I think. Unless I heard you completely wrong...
Oh well, my recollection stands.
