Saturday was what you'd call eventful.

First off, Scorpio Theatre's Annual General Meeting. Next year's season is basically set, although our March show still has a tinge of doubt to it. The script we've chosen is the most ambitious we've tried to date, but if mid-October rolls around and it looks like we can't afford it we'll have to switch to the contingency plan. Which I have until then to think up. The script that's generated the most excitement for this group in years is also the first script we'll have done that isn't one of mine. It's kind of weird that I'm not in any way upset about that, but hey... quality scripts from other authors. It's what I've been saying we needed for two years now.

Second, my cousin's wedding. Held at the zoo. So between the ceremony and the reception we got to hang out and see the animals for a while. My Dad continues to believe that the red pandas are an elaborate hoax we've been playing on him for nearly two decades. Of course, we were ridiculously overdressed for the zoo, but what are you gonna do. The only real problem was that the special event parking was on the opposite side of the zoo from the entrance, which in turn was on the opposite side of the zoo from the wedding. I was already running late, which meant I was in for a hell of a jog. Later I would begin to suspect that while there wasn't a quicker way in, there may have been a quicker way out, and I may not have needed to do the whole hike over again to get back to my car. Although it was a little neat wandering the zoo after closing.

And finally, club night with Masquerade and company. Mayhap she'll have a more detailed description of the event, but suffice for me to say that drinks were had, dancing was accomplished, and on the way to Gerry's we witnessed an altercation between two homeless people in which a woman flipped over a man's shopping cart then very slowly ran for it. AC considered it the funniest thing he'd ever seen in his life. Thankfully the guy didn't take offense at AC collapsing in laughter over his cart being flipped.

Must rest now. Have to arrive at work early tomorrow so that I can ask the Canadian Tire people to figure out why my engine light is on.

"There was magic then, nobility, and unimaginable cruelty. And so it was until the day that a false sun exploded over Trinity, and man forever traded away wonder for reason."
