I've seen Masquerade in Evita. You haven't. What's up with that?
Months upon months ago I bought, in an uncharacteristic burst of optimism, two tickets to An Evening with Kevin Smith. It was supposed to be in November, but got pushed back to February 5th. I was irritated. I had something relatively close to a date, we were both excited... then nothing.
Then yesterday, as I lay in that nice place between awake and asleep, it hit me... Feb. 5th is the day I get back from Cuba. Three hours after Kevin Smith starts. So instead of going to the event I've been looking forward to for long enough to conceive and gestate a human child with one of my favorite ladies... she and the Video Vulture will be going together and I'm out $100.
Before you say it, I'm fully aware you're having trouble drumming up sympathy for how I'm being inconvenienced by my tropical vacation. Try anyway.
Other than that, may I say that I rather enjoyed having three days off in a row. Decent amount of socialising, too... Aussie Rules on Thursday, new Lost and Spaced marathon Friday, and today I caught Syriana with my parents followed by Doom with the Boys. Syriana was better, in case you were wondering.

I might end up seeing Syriana tonight, but I also might bail out on my friends because I don't think I'm up for a serious movie tonight.
Too bad about the Kevin Smith thing. The universe must be conspiring against you.
