God I can't wait to move back to the US! I've lived in Germany for the past 4 years and loved every minute of it up until recently. My base is in the middle of nowhere, out in the boonies, so there really isn't much for a person who works shift work to get into. There are no late night coffee-shops or diners. There are no local hangouts for people watching. There are no neighborhoods to wander for a midnight stroll. If I decide to go for a walk in the woods behind my house in the middle of the night I run the risk of pissing off a boar. No joke. Those mothers get huge, about the size of my old Honda Civic. Anyhoo...I'm sure once I move back to the states, something will disappoint me, but in the meantime let me have my fantasy of shiny Best-Buy stores, roller rinks, shopping malls, coffee shops, midnight movies and the 24 hour Waffle House on most central US street corners. Until that fateful day, I'll continue to waste away on the internets, reading comics and watching the same DVDs over and over.
