has anyone ever heard of Common Rider? ex members of Operation Ivy and Screeching Weasles...? Well i had never heard of them before a month or so ago, and i feel like i missed out on SO fuckin much (theyre broken up now so just like many of my favorite bands, ill never get to see them live. which really fuckin sucks for me because i think music sounds its absolute best live. i would rather listen to a live cd than a uber produced recording...anyways...). I dont think i have ever heard anything quite like them; kinda punk-reagge style, maybe? this may be a far stretch and i could probalyl think of a better comparison if i thought about it, but KINDA like The Clash, Sublime, and OPIVY all mixed up. only way better than it sounds... i dont know, but if anyone wants to check them out, theyre definitly worth it. Theyve got two cds and a split with Against All Authority (i wasnt this excited over a split since the infamously fucked-up Rancid/NOFX split. c'mon...Rancid fucked it up....). oh, and while im on the subject of good bands... MR. BUNGLE, anyone...? and how about that Faith No More song in that what is it, a Pepsi commercial? maybe its Dr. Pepper commercial... i cant remember.
