---<(Major Rant Ahead)>---
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!
I've decided that the majority of the populace needs to redirect themselves into something more pertinent. Some News Expos show is doing a bit on degrading male role models in the media. It's all focusing around some asshat of a talk-radio host who thinks it's incredibly wrong to make men out to be bumbling buffoons (especially fathers) because it sends the wrong message to everyone. He says it portrays that it's okay for kids to hate dad if they see it in a TV show, or commercial, or Magazine ad (not that your kids are reading anyway, ass)
They even had some ass come on with the balls to blame it all on womens lib-ers who complained about female roles being satired in the same way. Since that comedic fallback was taken away, it became dear old dad. The talk show host guy even has the audacity to go after classic children's stories. Now, I'm not, nor have I ever been a HUGE Berenstain Bears fan, but for the sake of all that's moral in this freaking world. They're Kids Books!!!!!! get off your high horse.
First off, if you were a GOOD father, you would be able to effectively teach your kids the difference between fantasy and reality, comedy and drama, silliness and seriousness. Second off, since when do you represent the male population? You think that just because you spout a bunch of angry crap on the radio waves about getting some verizon commercial getting pulled that you have so many supporters. The reality is: all you've done is taken peoples minds and occupied them with a fight that was easy to follow. These worried and degraded Dads and Men didn't think anything about that commercial until you decided to say something. You've become a shepard, albeit of a very shallow herd of sheep. Third: whatever happened to taking things with a grain of salt. It seems that EVERYONE (as a general sense) has some stupid cause they want to see rectified, or justified in some way.
Cancer patients, AIDS research, the MDA, (and to a lesser extent) starving children in africa (who are bribed into believing in "God" by a bunch of christians toting plates full of food) are just causes. These are all things that truly benefit the entirety of mankind. You're little crusade against "negative portrayal" of men is bullshit, just like the assholes who try to sue Ruger, sturm & Co. for making a gun that killed their brother. Just like the assholes who tell me I can't smoke a cigarette in public, Just like the assholes who tried to take out two words in The Pledge of Allegiance.
Get a damned clue. Your little battle will be forgotten in two years, if not sooner. If you want to fight a real battle, take on the corrupt political structure that has become so bastardized in this country. Take on something that your kids can look at when your gone, and they can think to themselves: "Wow, he really made a difference."

people are so obsessed with blaming others these days. no one wants to take responsibility for themselves. yes, it is you that has the power to teach your very own children. the tv is not the only teacher, fools.
(sorry, just had to join in your rant)
