ok, so some stuff did happen today, i was outside playing hackysack with two friends, when we heard an explosion, we looked and there was a large white mushroom cloud. (I'm currently in Iraq.) so we knew we would be working soon. (my current mission involves cleaning up the mess from explosions in my area.) so I put on my flak vest, helmet, and i grabbed my rifle. we drove out on route Irish, there too find a hole in the asphalt approximately 6 ft by 4 ft, and maybe 6 inches deep. there was wreckage all about, we have to sweep off all the shrapnel so vehicles travelling won't get flat tires from the sharp metal. the vehicle that the explosive was in was pretty much destroyed, there was a bit of the frame and engine block left, and a whole lot of itty bitty pieces. also there were itty bitty pieces of Iraqi, nothing really identifiable, except a bit of skull and a piece of jaw with a few teeth. at one point i was walking with my broom to an area down the road i saw had alot of debris, when i felt a very uncomfortable squish under my left foot, i almost didn't want to look. yep, i stepped in Iraqi, it was pretty gross. i got some decent pictures of human bits, wrecked vehicle and the humvee that was wrecked by the explosion. the occupant of the vehicle was without a doubt dead, 5 U.S. soldiers were wounded. that was my day. now to eat lunch and play hackysack, have a great day everybody.
