@amra People generally believe what the media tells them is true. As for where the movement comes from, your president is not a democrat, to put it politely. Since the head of an HMO in the US will take home around a billion dollars per year, at least they did ten years ago, I'm sure he has friends who would be happy with the opportunities for profit that a US style system would provide. Let's just see how COVID-19 works out in a country where health care is for those who can afford it. At $3200 for a test, I fear there will be a very bad situation in the US and also here in Canada just because we are so connected. That could change things in Brazil.

@jozsef I don't know. Our president is a joke, but I can't see change in the near future.
