After a self imposed exile, and a monstrous countdown, I have returned yet again.
Well, since I've been away, I've been to Wrestlemania 19...
Here's how the day went down.
Previous night - Got wasted on 8 beers, an empty stomach, and only 20 minutes....friends took me home, made sure I stayed there.
Sunday morning - Cell phone rings, it's my friend Shelley, wanting to know which shirt to wear: Kurt Angle, or The Rock...I tell her Angle, and go back to sleep....this is 9:00 AM.
11:00 AM - Shelley, Deb (her sister), and Dave show up to pick me up...we are on the Road to Wrestlemania.
1:30 PM - We arrive in Tacoma, at some little gas station, we all had to pee....we change drivers...Shelley drove most of the way up, but now it's Dave's turn because he knows where Safeco Field is...I go use an ATM and get $100 out.
2:00 PM - We are in Seattle, finally...finding a place to park (for free) was a bitch....we stopped at mcDonald's for grub...first thing i had eaten since Friday...found a parking place, make our way to Safeco on foot (we parked a good mile away).
2:45 PM - Gates are open, but we have no idea which line to be in, because one line goes one way, one goes another, and another goes another...I got suckred into buying two programs, for $10 a piece, from a very pretty face...Dave wanted to take her home...I don't blame him....
3:00 PM - After walking up 8 flights of stairs, we get to our seats....I immediately put my jacket down on my seat, and head for the souvenir stand...2 Wrestlemania T-shirts, a Rey Misterio shirt, and $65 later, I am happy....I go to have a smoke..Shelley was with me the whole time...
4:45 PM - Show begins, let the pyro fly, and the fun begin...
Somewhere in there - A dude is walking up the stairs to his seat, with nachos that he paid $8 for (had the works)....he gets to the aisle, and drops them...all over the ground, his shirt, and his pants....he basically paid $8 to get humiliated...
8:00 PM - We are still there for this thing....We are among 54,093 other people there (a new Safeco Field record)....the main events are up....We see Brock Lesnar (a 295 lbs. man) do a flip off of the top rope and land on his head..pretty scary, but cool at the same time....
8:55 - We leave Safeco...takes us forever to find the car...our asses are all numb from sitting for that length of time...we find the car....
9:15 PM - We are in traffic...bad traffic....
10:45 PM - We have only gone 10 miles at this point...we stop off at Taco Bell to eat again (if you think I am gonna pay that much for food at Safeco Field, you are damn nuts!!!)....take off on the road again...
1:00 AM - Pull into a rest area about 10 miles north of Castle Rock, WA...in my sleepwalking state, some guy bums a cigarette off of me....I am surprised I didn't fall headfirst into the urinal....hey, wait a second here!!! These things don't flush!!!
2:00 AM - I am finally home...first thing I do, take off the coat, and pass out in the hallway....I don't wake up until 10:00 AM....
That was my day on Sunday...fun, exciting, and yes, strange to say the least.
