Second off: pure genius. I have a friend who works writing copy for a new channel. She thinks she could maybe call CPS tomorrow and ask questions like she's researching a story about CPS not investigating teens in danger.

I think I'll call them again on Tuesday and see if there's a changed tune.

As I suspected: social services is worse than useless.

14 year old girl is out on the streets every night unitl 3 am but since I don't have any information about her parents beating her, they won't get involved.

Tried something different at last night's garage jam.

I think the world is yet to decide if "I Wanna Be Sedated" sounds okay with two accoustic guitars and an ukulele.

I realized something.

Not one of my students has any first hand knowledge of how important punk rock was.

Not one of them knows what it was like to watch disco music spread like a disease and to have punk rock offer us something worth calling music.

Hmm.....

This thought makes me very, very old, doesn't it?

Sometimes I think there's got to be more to my life than teaching, surfing, jam sessions in my cuz's garage and Sunday dinners with da 'ohana.

Then I think -- why? I'm happy. My work is maika'i. My play is maika'i. My 'ohana is maika'i.
