Happiest of birthdays to melly!
The luau was nice. And I wasn't wrong: nearly 100 family members all came together.
Got up at 4 to join my Uncle who supervised the Imu -- yes, I was up at 4 am to dig a pit and line it with lava rocks. That took two hours and then we had to get the rocks hot enough before we could put in the pig.
I scratched up my hands pretty badly digging the imu, but we still had lots of music to play. I'm thinking the garage jammers are getty pretty good cause even my talk-no-stop cousins actually listened for a while.
My cousin's baby is so cute. Only one year old but she's got the deepest eyes you ever saw. And man, was she ever doted on all day long.
And I am tired -- I'm sore in places I never knew I had before.

Seeing your member name brought me back to my days on Oahu. Aloha friend. I grew up in barber's point, but I left in 1989. I used to speak dakine and my mother would scold me for it.
