I arrived in Houston Texas yesterday. First off, the rental car agency screwed up my reservation. They had the wrong car reserved and they did not have the car I selected. Instead of a Crossfire, I was set up with a Lincoln MKX Crossover. Actually I think I am in a better car. I wanted a sporty convertible, but after re-experiencing the notorious Houston humidity, I am happy to be in something roomy, comfortable, and above all - air conditioned! Not that the Crossfire would not have AC but its a small 2 seater and a convertible so it would have been crampt and probably uncomfortable. Considering I would likely not have the top down because of the humidity, I think I am much better off. And they knocked off $75 off my rental.
I visited with my step-dad's family last night. It was a lot of fun. I hardly ever get to see them and they are very hip and cool people.
Tonight is the time to meet with my classmates. We are to meet at our High School at 7PM and then head over to a local bar for the rest of the night. Tomorrow we have a semi-formal dinner at a nice conference center close by. It will be great to see folks again. Hopefully we can stay in better touch in the future. Sunday is a family picnick thing.I am not sure about that one. Not like I have a family to take so I may just spend the day relaxing by the pool here at the resort I am staying at.
