Memorial Day weekend.
Figures I would have to work on the one day that freaking honors vets. LOL. At least I did not have to work hard since it's slow on holidays (usually). I work in network operations (yeah I am a nerd) and the place can be one fire after another. Sometimes it's so stressful and chaotic I feel like hitting a wall. We have a gym at the office but they are missing the one thing I would REALLY dig. A heavy bag! On those stressful days I would love to take out some pent up frustrations on a punching bag. When I practiced martial arts years ago, I would use the heavy bag a lot. It felt damn therapeutic. So now, I just say "Fuck it". I get too worked up on stupid shit at work. I am a little anal sometimes and sort of a perfectionist and when I see stupid shit at work it just pisses me off. After being laid off from two tech startups when the Internet bubble burst, I am all about the stable company though. This place is the damn battleship of companies too. It would take some serious damage to sink this one. =) But it comes at the price of my sanity. I figure if you want to make good money, you are going to have to put up with stupid shit, long hours, or any mix of crap that the normal 9-5 person does not have to deal with. It goes with the pay check. So I keep hoping for the lottery to be kind so I can drop this job and all the frustration that goes with it.
