Why does culture stigmatize the most natural thing about humans? Without sex, none of us would be here. Yet, for some reason, there is an underlying notion of shame correlated with exuding or indulging in our sexual nature as humans.
As someone with a psychology degree and someone who has worked in the adult entertainment industry for a decade, I can confidently say that suppressing sexual desires due to shame does nothing but harm. I always say, as long as sex is between two or more consenting adults, there is nothingβ¦ absolutely NOTHING shameful about it. As for fetishes, as long as youβre not hurting anyone, LOVE WHAT YOU LOVE AND DO NOT LET ANYONE YUCK YOUR YUM!
Sex positivity, to me, means the absence of shame. The freedom to do what we as humans are wired to do, and allowing others to do the same.
ALWAYS make sure any sexual encounter is consensual, be informed and never be afraid to ask questions.
