I've learned a few interesting things in the last couple of days. Well, interesting to me, at least.

Firstly, Amazon.com is possibly the greatest human invention. If I need a $500 espresso maker rushed to my apartment, (and I just might,) it could happen. To say nothing of huge volumes of critical and democratic theory textbooks. Wonderful, sexy books.

By contrast, Amazon.ca is the online equivalent of that junky little bookstore that every town seems to have. You know the ones. It's pleasant, and seems promising, but they somehow manage to not carry what you need. They've have The History of Sexuality volume 1, but not 2. But perhaps that's too specific.

On my way to school, I regularly pass a line of cars which have "I *heart* Alberta Beef" bumper stickers on them. I am not a vegetarian anymore. However, the urge to paste over these with "I H8 Ralph Klein" stickers is ALMOST overpowering. What's bad for Ralph Klein is good for me.

(Sidenote: Would anyone pay, say $5, for a button that said that? Or a Bumpersticker? Or just a picture of Klein with a big red X over him?)

Finally, Seeing Geoff Berner at the E-Bar is extraordinarily lovely. Anyone who can make Romanian folk music sound like that, and has a song called "Maginot Line" wins in my books. "Stupid, stupid! Your guns are pointing the wrong way." (Good advice, really.)

On that note: Buy a button from me, or something. They're stylishly shitty! Here! At the AntiKlein! Viral advertising doesn't work; tell all your friends.

Yes, Amazon.ca is totally pants in comparison to it's American equivalent. I wonder why that is?
