I went on a little Transit Adventure today - to the Canadian Tire near Bessarion Station. It was my first time actually riding the Sheppard line. I've never had a reason to, before. The Sheppard line stations are actually surprisingly beautiful! Clean concrete, modern tile-work and even some interesting public art kicking around. Bessarion station itself is almost grand looking with very high ceilings and a cavernous mezzanine. It was really quite an interesting place to stand. Especially when you're the only person standing on the platform.
This isn't meant as an insult to either the former City of North York or its citizens, but is the Sheppard subway line maybe just a tad overbuilt? It's gorgeous and a great piece of infrastructure, but I was quite literally the only person at that station. I think the man in the fare booth was disappointed that I used the automated turnstile: he looked like he needed some company.
Maybe the TTC is planning ahead. Like, REALLY far ahead.

I'm sure it would be busier if it did something practical, like connecting to Downsview, then going up to York. But that would be too obvious.
