I'm feeling a little better about life right now. I told her how I felt, and while it's not going anywhere, it hasn't affected the friendship, and the possibility might still be open for some future when her life calms down. But at least I got it off my chest.
On a completely different note, I've spent (roughly, give or take an hour) 20 hours out of the last two days editing a PhD thesis with a fine-toothed comb, and going through and putting references in. (I'd like to point out that I'm only 20, and only a junior--who asks a 20 yr. old junior to help edit their PhD thesis?!?!) Meanwhile, I've gotten a grand total of 6 hours' sleep in the past 2 nights, and none of my own work done. Which sucks, considering the fact that I have a half-hour presentation to give Thursday and an exam that evening. God, I love/hate this shit.
At least I've remembered how to smile. I lost that for a few days there.
