Something tells me that this is going to be simply amazing.
I always had a problem with the first movie they made of it. The novel is actually rather dark, and while Gene Wilder is great and all, Willy Wonka was not a bright, cheery, benevolent character. The fact that Tim Burton is directing the new one and Johnny Depp is going to play Willy Wonka makes me quite inclined to believe that they might just present it the way it's supposed to be. And even if not, with those two involved, it's gotta be a hell of a film anyway.
(And thanks to antipode3141592 for tipping me off on it.)
