the 2005 Nobel laureate is a pretty cool guy. Likes his booze, apparently, especially on hiking trips. Not to mention contributing to the fact that one of the Cornell faculty members is no longer allowed in a certain national park. =)

Also, brilliant guy. Some of the stuff he's been telling us about is pretty cool, in the "What the hell made you think to even try that?" kind of way. On the other hand, I've also gotten to the point in my career where Nobel prizes don't mean the same thing they used to, in the same way that celebrity probably no longer means the same thing to a person who does the sound checks for a major rock band. That's not to say they mean nothing, just that I no longer have some pedestal-related opinion. But after talking to a couple Nobel laureates, I'm more likely to think about a Nobel winner as "I'd like to sit down and have a beer with him" than "I'd like to sit down and listen to him lecture".

In other news, Kingdom Hearts 2 is fun. smile Also, going to see V for Vendetta tonight. Should be entertaining.

That wasn't dancing at all, we were playing a game on the eye toy where we had to scratch virtual records. If you listen closely to the video, you can hear the scratching. biggrin

How fabulous that you've had the chance to meet Nobel Laureates! smile
