Has anybody ever competed in a sandcastle competition? No?? Will me neither, up until yesterday when a friend asked me last minute to join him and a three others in building the most epic sandcastle ever. After five hours of blood, sweat, and tears (literally) we managed to complete (sort of) this humble rendition of Optimus Prime. Let me tell you, building sandcastles is no walk in the park. That shit is HARD. Every single muscle in my body is sore today from shoveling dirt and lugging 5 gal buckets of water from the shore. Anyhow, we LOST. But it's all gravy 'cause we competed against some people who apparently have a LOT of spare time to become professionals at this. Not to mention our castle was a big time crowd pleaser. Hundreds of people were taking pictures of it and next to it. It was fuckin awesome. I ever heard a black guy say, "Aw dayum, that shit is TAIGHT!" Anyhow, if you've in Southern Cali and never been to the annual Imperial Beach Sandcastle Competition, you GOTTA go next year. It's sick.
