I need something explained. Gas prices are once again up. Some blame the hurricanes some blame stability in the Middle East and some blame Opec for lowering quotas.
First Iraq was responsible for about 4% of our annual consumption (in the Oil for food scheme). Well our prices are up much higher then that.
Ivan and the other storms that have been hitting our coast have been tough, but there are many ports which ships can travel and off load their supply. Besides Weather issues should be a temporary problem.
Stability in the Middle East?? There has been instability there for many years and our prices have not changed as they have of late.
OPEC, well if I all but had a monopoly on the world's oil supply I would try to jack up the prices for my profit.
What is the real reason for the price increases? I don't know. Any thoughts?
Now the big oil companies. How can you tell me that all the gas companies have the same cost of operation, and they produce gas for the exact same price? I can't believe it. Every operation produces gas at a different price per gallon, yet they all seem to charge the same. Can you say gouging, and collusion? I can.
Oh well, guess I need a hybrid car or a CNG vehicle.
Happy Day!
