Private sector is better in my opinion. Can you do your same job, working for the government, but as a civvy? I have a couple of friends at the Pentagon who took this approach... You'd make more $$$...

Hmm... I don't think you should stay in (and besides be miserable, possibly get all or much worse) just for the job aspect. If there are no other reasons holding you, then I would say go. You can get any number of good jobs as a civilian. My brothers are all veterans and they got good jobs just getting out. My brother-in-law became a police officer after he didn't get his staff sargeant promotion in the Marines. If you're coming up for reinlistment and you are doubting whether you should, esp. w/the idea of being shipped out to Iraq on top of all the rest- I'd definitely consider my options, you know.
