my connection is still boned (i'm posting this from work). a cable guy will be coming next goddamn wednesday, so now i get to spend the weekend with no phone and no internet.

if anyone needs me, i'll be sitting in the corner trying to fashion crude tools out of sharpened rocks. maybe if i'm lucky i'll make a fire. ooooh fancy.

fucking shaw. bah.

the cats knocked my laptop off the futon and broke it, so i can't even bring it down to the internet cafe. i'll have to use one of their computers, like some kind of wretched, common oaf.

maybe i'll panhandle for a while with a sign that says "will work for proof of shaw employee's demise".

update: i'm not going to question how or why this worked, but yesterday i swapped out my coax -> Y -> tv & modem setup for just straight coax -> modem. it didn't work, so i gave up and left it there. a few minutes ago i wanted to turn the tv on to keep me sane, so i switched back to the regular split setup and the fucking modem came back on. what the hell? did i not already try this exact setup three times last week? ah well, i'm just going to assume that it'll crap out again in ten minutes and hope for the best anyways.
