i, in my haste to get the hell out to the bus stop on time for once, grabbed Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72 the other day to take as my morning and afternoon bus reading. i've temporarily run out of Douglas Adams books and i figured hey, why not read about some savage politicking - it's about the right part of that particular quadrennial hoedown to visit with the ghost of elections past. i mention this mainly because this morning i read - in that book - a turn of phrase that a) left me more amused than i have any right to be and b) will someday hopefully be used as the title for a hideous, thumping overture that will be the soundtrack to the shambling march of my undead barbarian ninja horde. the phrase in question was "...came down like a million pound shithammer".

Million Pound Shithammer: The Unending March of the Eternally Wicked and Triumphant Horde. i can't wait.

update: space geeks rejoice, IEEE Spectrum has a whole article devoted to debugging a probe 1.2 billion km away.

The coding style guidelines here look about like this. When using underscores, do you do anything to differentiate between, local, class, and parameter variables?

class CClassName
{
public:
void MemberFunctionName(int Parameter);

private:
char* m_pPointerName;
char m_CharName;
};

void CClassName::MemberFunctionName(int Parameter)
{
int localVariableName;
}
