UPDATE: yup, she called it. my girl got the illustrious monday slot. woo!

the time to sleep fast approaches, so i'll avoid my usual tautological tendencies (note to Posh: found while looking up synonyms for the word of the day). anyways:

new job. programming. full time. free laptop. starts tomorrow. no dress code. self-defined hours. a short flurry of details: on friday i worked for an introductory four and a half hours then myself, the lead programmer, the tech/sales guy, and the ceo type guy drank three bottles of wine and talked shop for a few hours. a topic of conversation was laptops, so they gave me one to work on - not for keeps, but still, free laptop woo! i'll be working on converting parts of a few open-source projects (OSSuite) into a larger erp/cms type system (Typo 3) from denmark or some such place. good pay, nice perks, and to top it off all of my work is going towards open-source.

in the space between that last paragraph and this one i breathed the sigh of relief that signals the actual acceptance of the fact that my worries are over. i have not just a job, but a damn good one. dearest Posh not only has a good job, but has one at the same company as me. over the course of a few days we went from worrying about her even being able to pay rent or buy food to "hey, let's buy a ps2".

my girlfriend's first thought when presented with the idea of having extra money laying around: video games.

life is good.

yeah baby. i only want you for your buff. mmm buff.

maybe you should have thrown a snowball at the old man on the scooter. although, given his quick pace and snarky behaviour, there is a good chance he may have run you down.
