Apparently this country is in serious turmoil.
And I don't think anyone really knows it. Or cares.
IN this upcoming election in November, there are no moderate candidates. They seem to be all extremist conservative or liberal, with no in between, and almost 97% of them are only bashing other candidates.
I actually took the time to write to the political offices of 13 different candidates, and absolutely none of them replied with anything even remotely resembling a platform response, or an ideal of candidacy. They all simply took the time to try and instill in me the fear of what might happen if their opponents get elected. Are you kidding me?
IS THIS WHAT AMERICAN GOVERNMENT HAS COME TO?
A group of people in charge based on who scared the shit out of us about the "other guy" worse??
At best I get responses about how this person or that person served for however many years in some position, and has a typical nuclear American family with roots in some hometown rural Podunk. What about your running platform? What about campaign promises or even philosophies? How about a plan for office once you get there (if you get there).?
Does no one care that this coming election is based almost solely on propaganda and legerdemain? Does no one care that all these candidates are snake oil salesman in disguise?
I am shaking my head. Here in Ohio, we have a do nothing Governor who spent a lot of stimulus money on road projects where the money didn't need to be spent and on out of state companies to tell us how screwed we are. But the alternative is one of the men responsible for drafting the multi-million dollar bullshit that got Wall Street back in designer leather loafers and Asian silk ties and cushy bonuses. In Ohio, we can vote for Scylla, or we can vote for Charybdis. I for one don't want either of them.
The Great Recession is not the whole of our worries. I fear it only is the tip of the iceberg.
