So I've been reading a lot of Raymond Chandler's crime pulp lately, as I'm sure you know. I'm currently reading:

I've never read a Mike Hammer book (Mickey Spilane's main character) but I can't wait.
This excerpt is what sold me on it:
"I snapped the side of the rod across his jaw and laid the flesh open to the bone. I pounded his teeth back into his mouth with the end of the barrel... and i took my own damn time about kicking him in the face. He smashed into the door and lay there bubbling. So I kicked him again and he stopped bubbling."

as for listening to only half of the stuff I listed, no sweat, there's always stuff to learn and enjoy, always more music history to learn!
im going to actually check it out this sunday.
