Thanks to those who left me Birthday wishes and those who took mine into consideration (you still have a chance by tuning into Trash-o-matic Garbage a-go-go Sunday nights 10PM-Midnight).
Let me get something straight now that I've been neglecting to mention. I'm sure many of you are tired of hearing about my radio show, but here goes. Everything I do at KUCI is purely volunteer. About the only thing I take away are a bunch of albums that kind musicians send me to share with my listeners. I, like everyone else at the station, find value in sharing this underrated music with the public. After all the station policy is to play all manner of underground music (Not because we have to, but because we want to). I have DJ-ed from 3AM-6AM on Mondays, I have DJ-ed Midnight through 3AM on Sundays, Finally, I have recieved a favored slot at 10PM-midnight on Sundays. Not once have I thought that the lack of sleep and odd schedule was not worth it (especially when the online listener tracker is showing a fat goose egg).
Why am I explaining this? Well, As I've mentioned, I write about the station quite a bit. When I tell people to tune in, I don't want them to think I am doing it for personal gain. I am just a music lover that happened to get lucky by finding such an amazing station and opportunity. And while I don't feel I have an amazing on-air personality (Filthy Rotten Wes), I have been smart enough to make that seem intentional, hence the horible show and DJ name.
In final I want you to understand that I am not some scenester who thinks he's on the cutting edge of underground music, Neither am I someone who gets paid to play this music. I am a music fan who has stumbled onto a more effective way of torturing civillians with the music he loves.
