Trash-o-matic Garbage A-go-go has moved to an awesome new timeslot: Sundays 10PM-Midnight.
Why exactly is that an awesome slot?
Let me tell you.
1) 10 PM is the first hour of what we in the business call "Safe Harbor." between 10PM and 6AM a dj can get away with playing music with content that would not be allowed on an earlier slot. A "fuck" here, a few "tits" there....that makes for a good Trash-o-matic (and a very good night in any case, if you catch my drift).
2) The earlier slot makes it more practical for bands to come on and play live. This is a huge bonus as you get to hear a live band, and i get my own private show
3) (My favorite part) I'm on after an amazing Rockabilly/ alt. country/ twangy music show called "Howdylicious!" (8PM-10PM). The show and its DJ (Wanda) are both amazing and together we make a great line-up (as i get into the wilder side of Rockabilly, and Country Punk amongst many other things.) Swell!!!
This is the very slot I've been hoping for all along!
In other news, I've got a birthday coming up on the 13th. Whoever wants to see the Flametrick Subs, Scott Birim's one man band, and The Irish Brothers at Alex's Bar in Long Beach on the 14th is welcome to come along. hopefully Satan's Cheerleaders will be there too.
I'm also thinking about going to Johnny's Bar in Huntington beach on the 13th.
