yeah, its Tuesday... and my radio show was Sunday, but thats not gonna stop me from telling you how it went:
I was really looking forward to go into the station since i had been out of the state the week before and had a sub on for me. Things were going well enough through 3 quarters of the show:
The Montesas- Can't Be Your Lover
Webster Dunn Jr.- Black and White Shoes
Billy Duke- Rocky Piano
Van Robinson- Basis of Rock and Roll
Gene La Mar- Moon Eyes
?????-Rubber Biscuit
Screeching Weasel- A new Tomorrow
U.S. Bombs- Rumble Beach
Smut Peddlers- Rebatron Party (OC)
The Gee Strings- Arrest Me (germany)
Dead End Cruisers- Another Night
(PSAs)
John Cooper Clarke -Innocents
Reducers S.F.- Jokes On Me
CandyRag- Fight Back
Alleged Gunmen- Audio Invasion
The Nosebleeds- Ain't Been To No Music School
The Leeches- Ghost Ship
Leopold Kraus- Titisee Twist
The Bomboras- The Tomb
The Boss Martians- Coffin and a six pack
Evan Foster Surfing Band- KUK
Deadbolt-One Day I Will Kill You
The Del-Vamps- Bird 65'
(Highschool Hellcats/Hotrod Gang trailer)
Potugese Joe- Teenage Riot
Ann Margaret- 13 Men
Barbra Evans- Beatnik Daddy
The Scramblers- Mr.Hotrod
------------
...I decided that after my little juvenile delinquent-retro block that I wanted to play Hank Williams III' "Trashville" as it has "trash" in the name (like my show) and because it is a powerful track that bashes Nashville and its commercial country music scene. Well, the song put me into a hard rockin' country-punk type of mood, so I decided to continue with the theme. In that last half hour I had the most fun that I've ever had on Trash-o-matic. Every song I chose seemed to compliment the rest perfectly. So much so that i am planning on making a comp based on that block of music for my own enjoyment. Here is the list:
Hank Williams III- Trashville
Bloodshot Bill- Backseat of My Heart
Legendary Shack Shakers- Bible Cist
Drive By Truckers- Where The Devil Don't Stay
Motochrist-6 shooters, 6 strings, and 6 Packs
Starvations- Red Wine
Original Sinners- Birds And Bees
Lazy Cowgirls- You
Rev. Beatman- The Lord Is Coming Back
T-Model Ford- Nobody Gets Me Down
The Saddle Tramps- Mexican Hotrod
The Stumbleweeds- Foot Stompin' Friday Night
Supersuckers- Dead In the Water
--------
No, i don't expect you to know who all of 'em are. Just understand that they kick ass together like this.
