21.

I watched Star Wars Episode III just over 24 hours ago and all I can say is "Wow." Any childhood left in me died in that movie as I think it did for many of us Gen Xers.

The movie's harsh. Way harsh. This does for Star Wars what Schindler's List did for WWII. It's unbelievable how brutal Lucas can make a PG-13 film. I'd be shocked if this film wasn't pushing the limits of R. Although the most brutal violence (and it's quite brutal) takes place off camera, but the end of Anakin and Obi-Wan's battle is shockingly brutal. And it's made all that much worse when you look at all the parents who will bring their kids to this movie despite all the warnings by Lucas and the stars. Nothing about this movie is for children whatsoever, and it really makes the over-marketing of the picture seem really questionable.

I'm going to go see it at least one more time, but I guarantee it won't be for a few days. It's a great movie; hell, it's probably Lucas's best film. But after it, I can never look at Star Wars, in any of its forms, the same way again.

Haven't seen it yet so I can't comment on the violence of the film. The parents who took/take there kids to see the movie, despite all the warnings, are the same parents who let video games and tv babysit their children. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with video games or tv. When it becomes the parent and babysitter do I think there is a problem.
