I've been back less than a week, and already I'm finding myself off line for the better part of three days. That's 60 cents wasted.

I must say it was with good reason. My wife's oldest sister (actually half-sister) is in the hospital and may not make it. Apparently, a blood vessel ruptured somewhere in hier brain and things don't look good. She's the mother of two kids, one 19 and the other 12 (I believe) which makes it that much worse.

Things get complicated, as she lives in Louisiana, over a thousand miles away. We really couldn't afford the trip, nor did I think are vehicle would survive the effort. Miraculously, one of my wife's co-workers, a sales representative, used some of the frequent flyer miles he earned on the company's time to buy her a round trip ticket to Baton Rouge.

Now I'm in the house alone, my kid at Grandma's so I can keep working for the next week, and my wife somewhere in Baton Rouge. Busy three days, after all is done.

But I can slow down a bit now and enjoy the site again before I go back to writing.

Prayers from the more religious sort are always welcomed.
