Happy Birthday to Me...
Yeah, not doing anything much to speak of today. I worked this morning, I'll work tomorrow morning. One of my supervisors is kind enough to make a couple of his high quality pizzas for us tonight, so that's cool. Outside of that, I'm not expecting much of a holiday. Maybe my wife will bake a cake or something.
The best present will come tomorrow as my mom comes to take my kid about an hour away for the next week. She'll be attending Bible School while I will be enjoying a week of actually getting some restful sleep. If all goes well, she may go to my sister-in-law's house for a few days after that, so it's almost like summer vacation for me...
Anyone else as bothered as I am that Warner Bros. is releasing Richard Donner's version of Superman II on DVD? If he wanted it released, he should have made it twenty-five years ago. Seriously, he's messing with one of the finest superhero films of all time and that irks me. I highly doubt his additions and edits (including a computer altered screen test by Christopher Reeve) will do a dang thing to improve the movie.
Wow, I saw Ultraviolet the other night. Apologies are welcome from anyone who might have said it was a good movie. How the writer/director that gave us a film as entertaining as Equilibrium made a movie so horrible is beyond me.
Tadzi put up his top 10 favorite superhero/comic movies a couple weeks back. Hopefully, my update will come with my own next time around.
