I have an organic chem II test tomorrow. Urgh. I have to memorize so many reactions, and whether benzene substituents are activators/deactivators. And I must get an A or no med school for me.
I wonder if there are any doctor members (or med students).
Who knows what the major product of this reaction sequence will be:
toluene (Br2, FeBr3)-----> para isomer
(KMnO4, heat) ------> (HNO2, H2SO4, heat) -------> ???
