Occasionally, kids that live around here will knock on my door wanting to take out my trash for a dollar. I'll pay them a dollar per bag, or if there is more than one kid, a dollar a piece. I know they like to do something to earn money, and hey, if I can do one thing to teach kids how to earn money I'm all for it. My parents made me do things to earn money, and it taught me the value of a dollar and how working for it makes you appreciate it more.
So, I can't hardly do shit hobbling around on one foot and one heal, but being grateful for little things is still one of my fortes. I went to take my dogs for a walk (hobble) w/one of the few bags of trash at my door to take to the dumpster. This kid I don't know, I dunno about 8 yrs old, comes out of nowhere and says, "Can I take your trash to the dumpster for you?" He didn't want anything in return, he just wanted to help me.
This is what my foot looks like today...
and here is the worst of it...
All of my body weight came down on those three toes...while they were bent!
