holy crap. 11 1/2 hour shift today. and probably every monday from now on blackeyedpuke

i've never worked a shift that long, believe it or not. every job ive worked, has had a VERY strict no overtime policy.

im wiped out.

but damn if i cant wait to get my paycheck biggrin

Ahhhhh, a day off! after 6 months of sitting on my ass, you wouldnt think i'd be so excited about a day off from work. But shit, i am.

I'm worn out. I'm a revenue auditor now, so my job isnt exactly physically demanding, but It's been stressful. The past week, i've felt so overwhelmed, and in way over my head.

For another series I would recommend Samurai Champloo or Cowboy BeBop. Off beat comedy I recommend Ranma 1/2. Epic mecha series without the emo baggage of Gundam, I would recommend the Macross franchise (Macross, Macross 7, Macross Frontier). Macross Plus is like Macross light and a good litmus test for whether or not you'd like the franchise but the original 1984 Macross series is legendary and has made anime fans out of many.

As far as movies, Akira is a good one to start with.

There are like a million I could recommend but I had to stop myself.

Had my interview with the gaming commission yesterday. They're gonna run a preliminary background check on me,a nd once thats done (within a week), i should be able to get a temporary gaming badge until the full background check is done.

Meaning, i should start actually working next week or so biggrin

Had to go to the DMV today. Got there about 7 or so, and the doors dont open until 8. Got there, and the line was wrapped around half the building. Wrapped around the rest of the building by the time the doors opened.

All the while, I was standing next to an old man who insisted on telling everyone about his colonoscopy.

Got the job!

Not as good as the other one i wanted, but still, i'm employed!

Oh and i found out why i didnt get the other one. They hired someone who had no experience whatsoever relating to the job. They hired him because he was a member of the tribe.

The interview went ok. could have gone better of course. The lady told me she would call me in about a week or so, either way, whether i got the job or not.

One thing that probably hurt my chances, is that I really need to learn microsoft Excel. i know some basic stuff with it, but thats about it
