Couple nights ago, I had to restrain someone who was drunk and out of control. Somehow during this, I injured my right hand.
Put ice on it yesterday. Felt better today but figured I should go to urgent care just in case.
Went and they did an X-ray. There might be a couple of fractures on a bone in the hand below my thumb. Apparently, this bone has poor blood circulation to begin with, and if it doesn't heal properly, the bone could die, and I would lose a lot of functionality in my dominant hand, permanently.
I'm in a splint for a couple days until the official X-ray results come back. Then I'll know if there IS a fracture or not, and figure out where to go from there.
I don't have medical insurance, and won't until December.
I'm in an odd mixed state of complete calm, and dread. I'm going back and forth.

havent gotten results of xray yet, but if its broken, i very well might lose my job because of it. my company sucks ass when it comes to injuries. they wont let me work with the splint. so i have to take time off, and use up all of my personal/sick time for it. on top of that, im getting disciplinary points for missing days, despite the fact that i have a doctors note.
if my thumb isnt broken then i think my job will be fine. if it IS broken, then i have to request a parsonal leave of absence, which MAY OR MAY NOT get approved. but only for 6 weeks. if im not ready to return to work by then, i lose my job.
