I might soon be unemployed again. ALREADY.
Turns out this casino (which i already knew was a dump... but hey, it's a job!) is losing a ton of money. We're out in the middle of NOWHERE, literally, so we dont get very many people.
The restaurant is costing them a lot, and they dont get anywhere near what even a passable restaurant would get in revenue. In comparison, i checked the spreadsheets on my computer at work to compare March of this year to march of last year, for example. Last year, the restaurant took in around $40,000-$45,000 in March. This year? less than $10,000.
So, instead of blaming the food and beverage department, or blaming the marketing department for failing to think of ways to bring people TO the restaurant... who do they blame?
The finance department. We only input the data. we have NOTHING to do with raising revenue. NOTHING.
But apparently, their excuse is that our paperwork is 'inconsistant'. Which is natural. They just restructured the whole department. I've only been there 2 weeks. My direct supervisor has been there lass than 2 months. OF COURSE THINGS WILL BE INCONSITANT. They want to expand the casino within the next couple years, and they're syaing that if they go to a bank and ask for a loan, the bank will look at our financial records, and laugh at them, and turn them down.
What they're failing to realize is that, even if we were more efficient than fucking alien robots from the future, if your business is losing a ton of money, and cant prove you can pay back the loans, the bank WILL S|TILL TURN DOWN YOUR FUCKING LOAN!!
So basically, we had a meeting with the general manager of the casino, who told us that ALL of our jobs in the finance department are up for grabs. We have to re-interview for our own fucking jobs. And they are going to post the jobs out there again, so if someone else comes along with better qualifications, they get the job. He said it didnt matter if you just started, or had been there for 15 years.
