A friend of mine just got approved and had the date set to have gastric bypass surgury. I'm supporting him of course, but im worried. So many bad stories of people having bad complications, because they dont follow the doctors orders EXACTLY after the surgury. He cant have any alcohol, and he's essentially an alcoholic. I'm worried he wont have the will power to stay away. I dont want "oh one beer wont hurt" to turn into "oh one bottle of wine wont hurt" and so on. To be fair to him, he has cut WAY back on drinking since he started this whole process, and he seems much happier for it.
He had to losea bunch of weight before they would approve the surgury, and it just makes me wonder, if he can drop 60lbs in 6 months, why cant he go the rest on his own? but he doesnt think he can.
Well, like i said, im supporting him, good or bad. hope this works for him

(i know the song is generally kinda annoying, but this version is pretty good, especially if u like pop-punk/pop-rock)

Good luck to your friend! I hope he has the will power to quit drinking for good and make the best of this opportunity.
