At the comic con, i bought a copy of this program:
and i have to say, as confusing as it is (i'm not used to the interface), i like it so far. it didnt come with any kind of manual, so i ordered the book for dummies, and when i get that, i'mk gonna play around with it a little more, but here's an example of what i can do with it so far:
Using the basic pen tool from the program i used before (paintshop pro), in less than a minute, this is what i got:
and in the new program, again using only the basic pen tool (ok so i added a couple special effects to the gun, but thats it!), and again, in less than a minute, this is what i got:

much much better! i think this will help me some more in getting my motivation back to start drawing and creating again
