what a fucking day...
i'm so pissed at the company that provides me with my pittance every week. what is this world coming to.
yeah so my roommate was fired today (he works...or rather, used to...for the same company i do) for unsafe driving. apparently the saftey guy (who happened to be someone from corporate) who witnessed this thought that driving your vehicle with your arm out the window was unsafe enough to warrant termintation.
now it says in the employee handbook that an employee can be let go for driving unsafely in a company vehicle, but it doesn't say how 'unsafely' is determined. so it seems like a pretty arbitrary and ambiguous policy to begin with. i can see if someone is driving backwards through a playground at 50mph, but driving with an arm out the window? come on!
and now they can't understand why the rest of the department is pissed. wtf is wrong with the world today.
