I feel people are more lonely these days. Speaking as a lonely person, I feel a major contributor this is social networking sites. I totally agree about the real-life person to person thing. A lot of my friends and both my parents do the online dating thing and I just think it's kind of strange. I'm not into the idea of window shopping for a partner... though can't say that I am lonely. I'm very happily single and plan on staying this way for a while, so maybe that's why I don't fully understand.
