The bodies thrash about on the dance floor
-the lights are a little too low
-the music is a little too loud
...and the people dance...

They dance until they sweat
-until they stink
-until they forget

I get looked at
-stared at
-checked out
-perused
-once overed
-assessed
-judged
but never approached

...but the drinks are cold

I take my time...what's the rush?

Hours dance away to the music
-and another bar
This one too run-down to be cool or quaint

...it's after 6 am
-gotta prep for work at 8
...but the fridge is full...and the company will suffice

There's always time for one more.
