It isn't that I dislike it because it is not Tiger Stadium. The first time I went there it just seemed like baseball wasn't its main focus. It has this feeling of a mall that happens to have a baseball game going on in the center. It sucks though because the park is gorgeous. I love how it is sunk into the ground and the architecture outside is incredible. I love the statues and stuff commemorating the old Tigers. But I hate the name and I hate the feeling that it isn't about baseball it's about getting as much money from the fans as possible. And I hate that the pitchers don't bat!!!
Let's be honest....Tiger Stadium was a fucking shithole. It was by far the dirtiest park I have ever been to. Then again, it was 85 years old or so....what do ya expect, eh.
that's some fucking insight. i mostly agree, but for some other reasons. the sightlines are shit in comerica. that adds to your comment about the park's main focus. if it's difficult to watch the game when you're reallt trying to, then there is a huge problem. then there is the $3 20oz mountain dews...the lack of good parking...the hideous scoreboard...etc, etc. i love my tigers, but they needed to do better than that place. i'll be at opening day and a bunch of other games through the year. shit, an SG night out at the ballpark would be hot. can we make that happen?
