Does a generic v-greeting not defeat the idea of something meant to be personal and speak of caring?

All right, as the whole Thing is also a Marketing tool and I even saw adds in the US which told that if you buy five Valentine's greeting cards you get one for free!

Does that not make you all feel Special? Generic greeting Messages and discounted greeting cards...
