Last night I got into Japan at about 6pm Japan time. I took the Narita Express train to Shinjuku and found the hotel, where Ariel was waiting. We walked around Shinjuku and ate at a buffet-style yakiniku place, which was awesome. You pile your plate with raw meat and then take it back to your table and cook it. Afterwards we had coffee and chocolate cake at a cafe in commemoration of her birthday.
We went to the karaoke boxes, then to a Game Center for Purikura, and after much walking and being lost in Kabuki-cho looking for bars that allow gaijin (we didn't find any offhand), went to a 7-11 and bought Chu-His. We finally returned to the hotel and started drinking, and bought Super Chu-Hi (7%!) from a vending machine in the hotel. That stuff will fuck you up. I was sick drunk.
Today we're headed to Shibuya to go to the 109 Building, Junior Station, and of course, the Morning Musume museum. There are many other things to see in Shibuya, but they just aren't as important.
