Vacations are almost here, so I'm back to drawing. Finally, I have some time to do stuff. Today, I want to show you some bits of work I did this morning. They're simple speedsketches. I drew them because I was trying to come up with an idea for a tattoo when this occurred to me:
It is from the movie "Flyboys", I liked the idea because when adapted to an tattoo, could mean that the eagle is watching over you, empowering you. But the eagle is too simple for a tattoo.
So, I started experimenting, I didn't come up with a font for the words still neither where they are going to be written, right now I'm focusing on the drawing of the eagle.
This is what I got:
As I said, it is just a speedsketch, if I like the idea, than I move on to detailing.
I liked the eagle, but I missed something, the eagle is an United States symbol, not much of what I wanted. So then I thought: is there a different bird, that is just as powerful and beautiful or even more than the bald eagle? The answer is yes! There is. The Harpy Eagle. It's the most powerful and largest raptor. And it's found in natural rainforests in Brasil/South America.
Wow, an Raptor to watch over me and to remind me of home? PERFECT. I got some pictures in the internet, and this is what I came up with:
Need to improve, of course. But it's a start. Now I've got to make up my mind where to do it.
