RAIN RAIN GO AWAY COME AGAIN SOME OTHER DAY-
how are my hep kats and sex kittens doin ? as some of u know I went to DC on Sun and Mon to start the search for my birthmother. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt which is fucking nice. OMG it kicked ass - we were on the 8th floor- room 862. got in around 12 30ish -checked in - then went to check out the fitness club- we decided not to work out since they were charging 10 bucks for it. so we headed back up to our room to get ready for a late lunch with my sis in law who was flying in from Ann Arbor. We had a nice sea food lunch at the Legal Seafood resturant in the airport , chatted for a bit then went to look at a pair of Crocs that I saw earlier. they seem to be the latest thing when it comes to kids, and traveling. Easy to slip on and off, holes to keep your feet kewl and talk about good shoes for when it's raining. don't have to worry about getting them wet and if they get muddy u can spray them off with a hose. so I got me a pair . after took the metro back to the Hyatt and got ready for a night out . well our night out was turned into a night at the hotel since the sky opened up and it started to pour . Two secs outside w/o an umbrella got u soaked. so we sat in the Butlers Martini Lounge and had a drink then moved downstairs to the sports bar where we got some nacho's and had another drink . the other half was still hungry so we got us some sammy witches to take up to the room . then he regreted that since he was stuffed and his tummy ended up hurting. hehehe. he relaxed on the bed while I washed my make up off and got ready for bed . we had a nice electrical storm going on outside so we turned off the lights and sat in bed to watch it. ligthening coming every sec as well as more rain.
Mon morn was a nice one. we got up around 9ish I think and got ready to head down for brunch. I had belgian waffles which were yummy to the tummy and the other half did their all u can eat breakfast bar thingie. it was nice since they had a fountain near us . there was a lady sitting at a table next to us that looked like a character from my fav soap - which is Days of our Lives - we then headed back to the room to pack - check out n get ready to go to the Colombian Embassy- took a cab there told them what my deal was and they said that I would have to go to the Colombian Consulate. So off we went to find the nearest Metro station so we could get to the Colombian Consulate before they closed at one. we got there around 12 40ish and told them my deal and was givin a number to call in Bethesda , Maryland - so we are waiting to hear back from a lady that works for the place we called. OY VEY- after we left the consulate it started to rain so we hit up a coffee shop to wait it out and decided that our day of going to the museum might want to be put on hold until the next trip to DC which was actually a good idea since most of the museums that I wanted to see were closed due to flooding. some parts of DC got up to 14 inches of rain on Monday and probably even more by now. so we headed home in the rain . on the way one of our wipers started to come off and thank god we had our spare new ones in the back of the car. they were put to good use. so that was my trip - in other news Manayunk which is like 10 mins from our pad was evacuated yesterday due to some flooding - we are supposed to be getting more rain sometime today.
now for some good news- it's baby makin time once again and hopefully this time will be the winner - and my other half got the bartending position that was up for grabs at his work. this means more money - and he'll probably be working some days and a few nights. he's happy since he was kinda getting sick of waiting on tables. I'm happy cause it means more money so we can save up for either a new apartment or our own place. OMG I almost forgot to mention that my older bro and my nephew are coming to town tomorrow for a few days. I wish my other nephew and my niece could be here as well but at least I get to spend time with the one of them.
fact about moi - my old collie was named Katies Golden Knight - he was named after the US armies parachute team - he was called Golden or Goldie for short. unfortunately we had to give him away when we moved - but I'm not too sad about it since I got another dog later on to take his place and that dog is begging for food at the moment which he knows is a huge NO NO
added two pics from the Hyatt - one is the view from the lobby and the other is from The Grand Cafe were we had our brunch
