This was a strange day. I overslept and got a late start on doing my work. I went to the post office and then my Friday early dinner at the diner with my favorite waitress. She was not there today, it was around 4 PM and the only waitress on duty was one that had given me bad service twice, but I was hungry and decided that I should give her another chance.
No sooner did I get waited on and the place fills up and the girl is running around like crazy. One of the tables starts to shout across the diner about her coffee refill. The girl says she will get to her table as soon as she finishes delivering the tray full of food.
This woman sits there for about a minute and then get up and goes up to the cashier who is helping the girl get drinks out and berates him at the top of her voice. She is reaming him up one side and down the other for her coffee refill.
I had enough, I asked her if she was the only person here, before she could answer, I said there were 14 tables and a counter full of people, most of which have been here longer than her and we all feel the waitress is doing a fine job and if you let her do it we will all be much happier.
She is dumbstruck and looks at the cashier and says are you going to let him talk to me like that. Before he can answer, I ask the people at the diner, Hello, this woman feels her table requires a personal waitress and if you all agree we will wait until she is done with the one waitress here to get served, or you can join me and tell this obnoxious bitch to leave.
A few of the tables were stunned at my statement, but the woman stormed out with her friend in disgust. As she is leaving a few people got up and clapped at the performance.
The cashier is also the day manager and I said that I would pay for the food she did not pay for, he said no, I was eating for free as this is not the first time this woman has done this and they had not figured out a good way of telling her that she was not welcome.
Oh well, do not piss me off. The waitress did a great job, and she is off my shit list.
