I had another bad day at work yesterday. Payscum, paypal for the masses, payscum for the people who use it to sell, decided in it less than infinite wisdom to investigate another sale I made 2 weeks ago. They take the money while they investigate without reason, no buyer complaint, just they wanted to see how long it would take someone to call and rip them a new asshole. There are seller protection policies in place, I follow them to the T and for this item and the one they fucked with me last month meant getting a signature for the item. I put the signature delivery confirmation number in the record at payscum and all they have to do is cut and paste the number and viola, it was delivered and signed for.
Oh forgot to mention, in the email they send you they say please do not ship this item while we investigate and hold your money without interest for seven to ten days. However they send the emails about ten days after the item has arrived at the customer.
I waited patiently last month through seven days and then ten was over a weekend. When I called them they said it could take up to thirty days. I said then why did you state in writing seven to ten, and is there anyone in resolutions with an IQ above room temperature I can talk to. They thought I was being insulting, I thought if someone took less than a minute to do their job this would be easily resolved. I got their attention and guess what I got the money back.
Yesterday I made the same call, only this time with a twist. I said does paypal actually want me to make them money or not. I have 61 payments in my account for a total of xxxx.xx and if my money is back in my account in two minutes I will send it all back. I hung up.
I waited 5 minutes and sent the money back, one at a time with the explanation that paypal is holding monies of mine hostage and to prevent them from doing it again I am no longer willing to accept paypal. If they would like me to accept paypal, email paypal and tell them that their new policy of randomly investigating transactions is an insult to their buyers as well as sellers and it needs to be repealed.
In less than 20 minutes I got a call from a supervisor as payscum and he said that he would get me suspended from ebay for not taking paypal in my auctions as stated. I told him to read my auction verbage, it says paypal accepted on a case by case basis. I hung up again.
I logged into my paypal account and guess what the money they borrowed was back.
I called my account rep at ebay and explained the situation, he was totally unaware that the new policy was as I stated. He read the press release and was stunned that no one had complained. I pointed out that I had written to his boss an email asking how this could possibly be good for the sellers, and that I was on board with the pending ebay strike, which hurt them in the long run.
My rep said he will look into it, I gave him a list of other seller that had been victims of this random investigation process.
Now ebay could give me a warning about returning the money, but all the ebayers have resent the money after I told them the whole story. But WTF, we make them their money and they treat us like criminals.
After I got that monkey off my back, my new Norton 360 starts acting up and after over an hour on the phone with 1-800-dothead got it running.
I was pissed off went out to dinner my favorite waitress ordered the wrong food for me, she was having a bad day, it came out and was fair at best. She almost was in tears when she saw what she had done, I told her not to worry, it was the black cloud that was hanging over my head and not her.
I came home, relaxed and watched Michael from Monty Python on a BBC travel tour through the Sahara and knew my life was better than a lot of others in the world and went to bed. The travel tour was 4 hours and well done.
Somedays it does not pay to get out of bed.
